The Taming of the Shrew
William Shakespeare

Applications are now open for Lazarus Theatre Company’s forthcoming production of Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew.

Kate talks too much; at least, that's what the men of Padua think. So they persuade Petruchio to marry her and bring his wilful wife to heel.

Part farce and part tragedy, The Taming of the Shrew dramatises society's attempt to control and one woman's bid to resist.

Shakespeare’s hilarious and comic play hits the stage in an all-new gutsy and energetic ensemble production. Using text, movement and a contemporary score, with audience in and amongst the action in an in-the-round festival style staging, this is Shrew not to be missed.

The Taming of the Shrew marks our return to The Jack Studio after our riotous production of John Gay's The Beggar's Opera and our sell-out production of The Caucasian Chalk Circle in 2016.

The Taming of the Shrew shall be directed by our Associate Director Sara Reimers. This production is colour blind cast and we are keen to meet actors from all backgrounds and experience.

Audition Dates:
1st Round – 30th May, 2nd Round (recalls) 31st May
Location: The Greenwich Theatre.
